This week, fifth class took part in the National Spring Clean by collecting rubbish around the school and down the road toward Bridgend. We were accompanied by Ms Faulkner, Ms Connaughton and Maureen Mc Laughlin.
National Spring Clean is Ireland’s most popular, well recognized and successful anti-litter initiative. Taking place during the whole month of April and now in its 17th year, the campaign encourages every sector of society to actively participate and take responsibility for litter, by actually conducting clean ups in their own local environment.
We were supplied with all the materials we needed from the National Spring Clean website, including bags, gloves and pickers. We collected many bags of litter and have hopefully inspired our fellow citizens to go out and do the same!
