St Aengus NS Debating Team won the Concern’s Primary School Debating Final in Donegal against Kilmacrennan NS at the Mount Errigal Hotel in Letterkenny on Friday 31st March.
The motion put forward was ‘primary aged children do not need mobile phones’ and St Aengus proposed this.
Leahrose Davis, Rachel Bradley and Leo Doherty spoke on the day with the help of researchers John Mc Daid, Allannah Curran and Eoghan Strain, who also debated on the journey to the final.
Time Keepers were Michael Doherty and Ethan Coyle.
Their teachers who have worked hard towards success with the team are 5th class teacher Ms Connaughton and resource teacher Ms O’ Donnell.
The team now look forward to the regional final coming up some time in May.
