Áthbhliain faoi mhaise daoibh go léir! Welcome back everyone. Eamon the rascal is gone and we return to “Normality”. Well done to all involved in the Christmas plays and Carol service. The feeling of good will and festive cheer was there for all to see. Remember to wear your coats, hats and scarves as Jack Frost is still about.

Building Update: Floors are laid, Plastering done, electrics installed. We are slowly but surely getting there. The front of the school will soon have a whole new entrance and Bernie will have a brand new office. Junior infants will move into the new classroom which should be complete shortly after the midterm in February (Fingers crossed). The school plan to have an open day to celebrate the opening of the classroom and new entrance area when things settle down.

Enrolments: Junior infant enrolment is now open for the 2019/2020 school year. Please call into office or download this year’s enrolment form from the website and drop it into the office. If you have any concerns about age, or your child has any special education needs, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Temple Street fundraiser: Thanks to the kind donations from our coffee morning and Children’s Christmas jumper day, the school raised over €425 for Temple Street Children’s Hospital.

Singing Club: Maureen is back and she informed me that the singing club will start again next Tuesday from 3-4 in the school hall. Children from 1st to 6th class are welcome to join.

Catholic Schools week: This will take place towards the end of the month and of course we will have our always popular Grandparents day.More information to follow on the website.

Car park: Please use the car park when dropping off and collecting your children. By parking on the road you are narrowing it and causing it to be unsafe. Childrens safety is all our concern.

Uniform and Healthy Lunches: Please continue to follow these school policies are we continually strive to be the healthiest school in Ireland. Details are on the website.

Late arrivals: Please ensure your child arrives in plenty of time for school. The children get plenty of exercise before school with big benefits being seen in the classroom. Parents and teacher gives habits of a lifetime to their children. Let’s ensure that they are good ones.

Active Flag: The children ran the equivalent from Bridgend to the North Pole before the Christmas and we intend to break even more records in the new term.

Debating: The school debating team are back in action this month. Best of Luck!

Midterm: Just a reminder that the school is closed for the week starting the 18th of February.

My door is always open,
