Our scary monsters have all returned safe and sound after the Halloween break and so have all the children. Ha Ha Ha. Never a dull moment in the school though and we hope to have an action-packed November.
Parent-Teacher meetings: These will take place on Thursday the 14th of November from 1 pm to 5 pm. The children will be finished at 12.30 on that day. If you cannot for some reason, make it on that day please inform the school and we will try to make alternative arrangements. A reminder that the meeting should be kept brief and another meeting can take place another day if you feel the need to talk for a longer period with the teacher. The learning support staff will also be there and if your child is attending learning support or you are looking for a bit of advice please speak to them.
Behaviour and Anti- Bullying policies: The current draft policy will be reviewed by the Board of Management on next Thursday meeting and amended or ratified. We will be asking that every family signs a slip to say that they agree with the policies in place. This slip will be in your child’s bag next week and should be returned by Friday the 15th of November. They are currently on the website under important information and policies. As with all policies these are constantly under review and are open to suggestions from the whole school body.
Library: There has been a huge amount of work done by the staff in the school preparing our new library for the children. It will be located down beside the hall. We welcome any donations of good books that you are finished with. We are hoping that this will be run by the parents of the school. It would require a number of parents to commit to a few hours a week. Any parent that wishes to become involved or would like a tour around the library please approach me on the parent-teacher meeting day. Garda vetting will be required for all personal working in a school setting.
