Analysis of number/combining sets (beginning of addition) Planet Maths, pages 111-114 (folensonline.ie has interactive maths games, sign up to the website and search: planet maths junior infants).
3d shapes: cuboid. Discuss the cuboid ( how many sides? How many edges?What shape is each side?) Find things around the home that are cuboid shape ( If you have set up a 3d shape table then add the cuboids to it. Your child can make a label reading Cuboid with your help and place 3d items beside the label.
They can play a sorting game. Put the cubes beside the cube sign and the same for the cuboids.
SESE: continue to discuss the signs of spring ( point out signs when you’re out walking).
Topic: On the farm; discuss the animals that can be found on the farm. Foods that we get from different animals. Farmers jobs in the spring. The story of wool: BBC TEACH; how wool is made science ks1.
Twinkl also has FARM powerpoints/ cut & sequence/animal photos: what they eat & where they live/what am I?/ position language/ animal matching cards.
Draw a picture of the farmer with his sheep and their lambs. Write 1 or 2 sentences. (Try to use words that you know or you can sound out).
Maybe a song? I’M A DINGLE DANGLE SCARECROW/OLD MAC DONALD.

Reading: Continue to read books in folder, log on to Get Epic account for additional readers or use the Collins big cat readers(see Padlet); Read or listen to the interactive big book “Under the Sea”and discuss what is your favourite sea creature and why.
Sight words: Play the online games on Padlet. Why not challenge yourself and write out as many as you remember from the activities.
Phonics: /oi/ sound, watch the videos, play the games and activities based on the /oi/ sound; complete corresponding page in phonics copy; Sounds Make Words pgs 26, 27 and 61 or Sounds in Action pgs 23 and 24; continue to revise sounds using the online flashcards on Padlet.
Oral language: Sea creatures; listen to the story and complete the corresponding activities, listen to the poem “Ocean travel” and try and learn a verse or two; add actions if you wish or draw a picture about it.
Handwriting: the letter /k / in big and small book.
Maths: The story of 10 pages 92, 93, 94 and 95; hold up some fingers and ask your child to show you how many more do you need to make 10; clap /hop/jump/twirl/skip/side step 10 times(ask child for suggestions!); complete games and activities on Padlet; planet maths small book pg 24; ; counting rhyme 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 once I caught a fish alive.

SESE; Geography: -Animals; listen to the video about minibeasts and complete the sorting activity on padlet. – Go on a hunt for minibeasts in your garden; Draw two minibeasts you find in your art copy and write sentences underneath.

Hi 6th class,
As you’re all aware this should have been the most exciting week of the year with your confirmation due to take place on Tuesday. Unfortunately we’ll all have to wait for some time to receive this sacrament. In light of this I have decided to give you a pass for all school work on Tuesday (provided your parents/guardians agree). I hope you can make the most of what should have been one of the best days of your lives so far.
