October newsletter

Five weeks down of the new term and we are very happy with how things have gone. The colds and flus of the first couple of weeks seem to have calmed down and things are back to normal. Thank you to everyone who is following the procedures in the school. It is very reassuring to have such supportive parents in the school. We all know we are going to get through this period in our lives together and emerge stronger.

School book rental money: We are still waiting for a number of families to pay their book rental money. The cost this year is €45 per child. If for whatever reason you are struggling to pay the money, please do not hesitate to contact the office and speak directly to Séamus. All conversations will be treated with the utmost confidence.

Bank details: AIB bank IE98AIBK93729041463201

Please remember to reference your child’s name that you are paying for.

Covid-19: The school has still had no case of Covid-19 in the school community. If, and more than likely when it does happen, we are very prepared in the school for all eventualities. Underneath is the course of action that will take place in the event of a case of Covid-19 in the school.

  • The school must take Public Health advice.
  • The school must respect Confidentiality and Data Protection Law.
  • The HSE will tell us who will have to restrict movements and not attend school.
  • The school will follow strictly the advice of the HSE.

If the HSE gives us information for parents, we will pass it on to you straight away.

Chicken pox: If your child contracts chicken pox please contact the school.

Collection of children: If you are collecting your child please park outside the main pedestrian gate and ring the bell. Your child will be sent out to you from the school.

Interactive screens: Six new interactive screens have been purchased for the school. A big thank you must go to the Parent’s Association who help partially fund the purchases.

Parents Association: It seems like a long time ago since the fashion show and Christmas fair but the parent’s association money is being spend for the children in school now. New bright signage gives the children a new feeling of pride in their school. New jerseys have been purchased and should be arriving shortly. New furniture has been bought. We have money ring-fenced for the purchase of book and equipment for the library when we can use it again. It’s time to get creative with our next fundraiser so get thinking.

Parents Association AGM: This will take place via zoom on Tuesday the 13th of October. Details of accessing the zoom meeting will be placed on the website on the day of the meeting.
