January newsletter

Happy new year to everyone and I hope everyone had a happy and restful Christmas. We have refuelled here in school and are ready for another term full of fun and learning.

Enrolment: The school is now accepting enrolment forms for September 2023. Forms are available on the website and in the office.

ASD class: The school is delighted to announce that we have received sanction for another ASD class in the school. This will bring our allocation.

We have launch a new Facebook and Tik tok page for the school. The links to both will be sent out in the next few days through Aladdin. Please share content on enrolment.

Catholic School week: This year Catholic school’s week will take place for the week starting the 30th of January. On Wednesday the 1st of February we will invite the grandparents and parents to the school. The grandparents/parents are welcome to visit the classes from 9.30 (You may be put to work by the children who will be making St. Brigid’s crosses). At 10.15 we will invite everyone down to the hall for a small performance from the children. There will be tea/coffee and some cakes. This is one of the highlights of the school’s calendar and it is the first time we have been able to do this post covid. We look forward to welcoming everyone to the school.

School closure: The school is closed on February the 6th for the new bank holiday. The school is also closed on Thursday the 16th and Friday the 17th of February for the mid-term break.

Zip line: Congratulations to the student council and especially Conor Barron (6th class) who have successfully campaigned for a Zip line. Conor successfully lobbied councillor Reny Donaghey three years ago to provide part funding for the project.  We will be the envy of every school in the country. Thanks to the hard work of the lads at Creative landscapes (and past pupils) for getting this over the line.

Burt GAA training: Click the document below which outline the upcoming training for under 7 boys and under 9 boy football and hurling.
