We had 36 children from 4th, 5th and 6th Class taking part in the Michael McGrath Memorial Cup in O’Donnell Park in Letterkenny on Thursday as part of our Active Week.

The camogie team topped their group beating the two Letterkenny Schools and Tooban which set up a final against Gaelscoil Adhamhnáin. Unfortunately the break of the ball didn’t go our way in the final and the Gaelscoil came out winners by 5 points. At the presentation, the team was praised for their wonderful display of skills and that it was one the finest games of Camogie that had been played at the tournament.

It was a similar story for the hurlers playing Gaelscoil Adhamnáin in the final. After a blistering start and going into the lead with a fantastic goal, the Gaelscoil battled in the second half to come out winners by 4 points.

It was a great day of hurling and once again the teams showed how strong hurling and camogie is in the school and their clubs.
