Huge congratulations are in order for the boys from 4th, 5th and 6th Class who took home the County Title today in the Finn Valley Centre in Stranorlar. In the first match, the boys put in a phenomenal performance to beat St Mura NS 4-3. This put them in a great position as two more wins would mean that they could not be caught on points. A hard fought 1-0 win against Dromore NS set up a deciding final match against Aodh Rua from Donegal Town. It was a tight fought contest with the boys managing to convert their chances to win 2-0. This resulted in the return of the county title to St. Aengus for the second year in a row. The hurling on display was outstanding and the players were a credit to the school and their clubs. The school is immensely proud of their achievement and they progress to the Ulster competition on Thursday in Magherafelt.

The girls also showed fantastic levels of skill and bravery in their matches. Luck was not to be on our side in the first game against St Mura NS with two efforts hitting the post and the Tooban keeper putting in a player of the match performance. The girls lost out on a 2-1 score line and drew 1-1 with Dromore NS in the second match. They left with their heads held high after giving it their all. Well done to all the players and a word of thanks to the parents and carers for their support.
