Congratulations to the boys and girls from junior infants to sixth class who are now part of the Green school’s committee. On Tuesday we met with Aengus, who is our Green school coordinator and he told us that the area we are focusing on is litter and waste. Aengus gave us good tips on how we can improve the school in litter and waste. Stay tuned to the website for more information on the new Green schools committee.

Every class has to do a litter survey. Sheets were handed out. 6th class are matched with junior infants, 5th with senior infants, 4th with 1st class and 3rd with 2nd class. The child calls out the question and counts the number of hands that are up.

This will take place on Friday the 28th of February in the hall during school. Callum from 5th will make the poster. All children on the green committee will do a parade through the school to promote it on Monday the 24th of February.

here is an example of one.

4. Clothes collection: We will do this after the fashion show

5. Bins : Everybody on the committee is research what goes into the three bins in the classroom

The Green schools’ committee has organised a Junk Kouture fashion show for this Friday the 28th of February in school. We want all fashion designers, models to get creative and design a piece of designer clothes made from junk from home. Get recycled items and get creative. There will be prizes on the day and it promises to be a great fun day for the children.

Well done to Callum from 5th class who designed our poster.
